Befana’s Hat with Ham. A creative appetizer and tasty, perfect for celebrating Epiphany, that will amaze both adults and children.

Ingredients
- 2 rolls puff pastry
- 3/8 cup ricotta
- 3.5 oz cooked ham
- as needed poppy seeds
- as needed sesame seeds
- 1 egg yolk

Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Put the cooked ham in a blender and blend. Add the ricotta and continue blending until you get a cream to fill a piping bag.
Unroll the puff pastry rolls, overlap them, and with the help of a sharp knife, sketch and then cut out the shape of a witch’s hat. See photo.
Place the first hat on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and spread the ham cream over the surface, making sure to leave half an inch of free edge.
Cover the Befana’s hat with the second layer of pastry and with the scraps create a patch, the belt with the buckle, and possibly other decorative subjects.
Brush the surface with the beaten egg yolk and sprinkle the poppy seeds on the buckle and patch, and the sesame seeds on the decorative figures.
Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
Our Befana’s Hat with Ham is ready. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
