Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter (cold, diced)
- 2/5 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch salt
- 5 tbsps strawberry jam (or berry jam)
- to taste powdered sugar
Tools
- Air Fryer
- 20 cm Baking Pan
- Bowl
- Rolling Pin
- Cookie Cutters
Steps
In a glass bowl, pour the flour, a pinch of salt, and the cold butter cut into cubes. Work the ingredients with your fingertips until a sandy mixture is obtained.
Add the sugar, egg, and mix quickly to form a ball.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
After this time, take the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/5 inch. To facilitate this operation, you can roll the pastry between two sheets of parchment paper.
Place the pastry in a 20 cm baking pan suitable for air frying and cook for 12/15 minutes at 330°F, or until golden.
Use the leftover dough to make Christmas-themed cookies, which will be cooked in the air fryer for about 10 minutes after the base.
Let it cool and then transfer it to a cake plate.
At this point, we can fill our pastry shell with jam of choice and decorate with the Christmas cookies and powdered sugar.
