Crumbly cookies to give at Christmas. A sweet and delicious idea to gift at Christmas to friends and family.
These tasty treats are very simple to make, but thanks to the hard candies, they also have a very scenic look, as when they melt they acquire the classic colored glass effect.
They are ideal to package in tin boxes but also in simple themed bags.
They are a great alternative to the Gianduia spread to give at Christmas or you can package them together or use them to enrich a Christmas basket.

Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 5 oz butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- as needed hard candies (fruit-flavored)
- 1 packet vanillin
Tools
- Cookie Cutter
- Baking Sheet
- Parchment Paper
Steps
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and vanillin.
Add the cold butter in pieces and work with your hands. Add the egg and knead quickly until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Form a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 340°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Take the dough from the fridge and with the help of a rolling pin, roll it out to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
With a Christmas-themed cookie cutter cut out about 30/35 pieces. The quantity depends on the size.
Make a hole in the center of each cookie. You can use a small pastry cutter or a piping bag nozzle.
Break the hard candies into small pieces (you can use a mortar or meat mallet, wrapping the candies in a cloth to prevent them from scattering). Place a piece of candy in the central hole of each cookie.
Bake and cook for about 10 minutes until the cookies are lightly golden and the candies are melted.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet before moving them, to allow the candies to harden.
Our crumbly cookies to give at Christmas are ready. Package them in a tin box or in themed Christmas bags.
