Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • as needed powdered sugar
  • as needed sugars (eyes)
  • 1 tbsp butter (to grease the pan)

Tools

  • Condiment Bottles
  • Pan
  • Bowl
  • Whisk

Steps

  • Let’s make the batter.
In a bowl, beat the egg with the sugar, add the milk and mix. Add the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt, then work until a smooth and lump-free batter is obtained.

Transfer the batter into a kitchen squeeze bottle. It will help us to easily draw the shape of the spiderweb.

  • Create the spiderweb in the pan.
Heat a lightly greased non-stick pan and, with the squeeze bottle, draw a big X, then add another X slightly rotated, so that the lines cross like the spokes of a spiderweb.

Connect the lines with transversal curves to form the net effect.

Cook for 1-2 minutes over medium-low heat until the surface becomes dull. Gently flip with a spatula and cook the other side for a few seconds.

  • With the same batter, draw a small body with 6 legs. When ready, add two sugar eyes or two chocolate chips.

Place the spiderweb on a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and lay the little spider on top. You can also decorate with a small fake spider for a more “scary” effect.

    Happy Halloween.
