Steps

  • Choose potatoes of the same size, so they cook evenly.

    Wash them well under running water to remove dirt and dry them with a cloth or paper towel.

    With a fork, poke them on all sides, so steam can escape during cooking, then place them on a microwave-safe plate, without overlapping.

    Cook at 800 watts for about 7 minutes. Check the cooking by piercing with a fork: if the potatoes are still a bit hard, add 30 seconds at a time until they are soft in the center.
