Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 9 oz sausage
  • 2/3 cup ricotta
  • 1 egg yolk
  • to taste sesame seeds
  • to taste poppy seeds
  • 1 pinch salt

Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.

    Peel the sausage, crumble it with a fork and place it in a small bowl. Add the ricotta, a pinch of salt and mix.

  • Unroll the sheets of puff pastry and overlap them. Use a knife to cut out a bottle shape as shown in the photo.

    Place the first pastry sheet on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and spread the sausage and ricotta filling, leaving a 1/4 inch border.

    Cover the bottle with the second layer of pastry and seal the edges well with your hands.

    Use the leftover pastry to cut out the label, cap, and decorative stars.

    Brush the surface with the beaten egg yolk and use a knife to score the 2025 inscription on the label.

    Fill the groove with poppy seeds and sprinkle sesame seeds on the cap and stars.

  • Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

    Remove from oven and let cool slightly before transferring to a platter or directly to the table.
