Oriental Rice Salad

If you love cold dishes, hurry up and prepare the oriental rice salad. A valid and tasty alternative to the classic summer dish. Perfect to take to both the office and the beach! I used the rice cooker. The result will leave you speechless! Seeing is believing!

Ingredients

  • 12 oz rice
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 3.5 oz frozen peas
  • 3.5 oz cooked ham (diced)
  • 3 eggs
  • to taste vegetable oil (soybean)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste soy sauce
  • to taste hazelnut crumbs

Steps

  • Let’s prepare the rice with the rice cooker

  • Wash the rice well under cold running water until the starch is eliminated, then place it in the rice cooker, add the water, stir well, close with the lid, and turn on the appliance.

    When the cooking is complete, the rice cooker will turn off by itself.

    Put it in “keep warm” mode for 10 minutes.

    Our rice is ready. Place it in a baking dish to cool.

  • Let’s prepare the dressing

  • Cook the frozen peas in a saucepan with salted water. Once ready, strain them and add them to the baking dish with the rice.

    Take a pan and pour in a swirl of soybean oil. Heat it well and add the eggs, the salt, and stir vigorously to scramble them.

    When almost cooked, add the ham and let it flavor for half a minute.

    Remove from the heat and add to the rice with the peas.

    Mix everything well, if necessary adjust for salt and oil, and put in the fridge to cool.

    Our oriental rice salad is ready.

    Serve in single-serving ramekins

    If you like, you can decorate with hazelnut crumbs and soy sauce.

Storage and tips …

Store in the fridge in an airtight container

It can be served either hot or cold

Consume within 2/3 days

You can replace the soy sauce with teriyaki sauce
