If you prefer, you can use shortcrust pastry or pizza dough instead of puff pastry. These doughs will give a different texture, but equally good.
Can I freeze the raw pastries before baking them?
Yes, you can freeze the pastries before baking. Prepare the pastries, place them on a tray, and freeze them. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag. When you want to bake them, just put them directly in the oven, slightly increasing the cooking time.
