Puff Pastry Heart with Jam.
A showy dessert, easy and quick to prepare, perfect for a special occasion like Valentine’s Day but also to celebrate an anniversary or simply to surprise someone you love with a delicious treat.
Making it is really easy: just a roll of puff pastry or shortcrust pastry, strawberry jam and a few simple steps to get a beautiful and tasty braided heart.
You can substitute the strawberry jam with another jam of your choice or even with Nutella.
Serve it for breakfast, as a snack, or as a sweet after-dinner treat.

Ingredients
- 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 1 egg yolk
- to taste sugar sprinkles
Tools
- Baking tray
- Bowl
- Brush
- Knife
Steps
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Unroll the puff pastry on a work surface, leaving it on its parchment paper.
Add 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam and spread it over half of the surface.
Fold the pastry over to cover the jam.
Using a sharp knife, cut the pastry into 6 equal strips.
Roll each strip onto itself forming spirals.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll the first two strips onto themselves and place them on the tray in a mirror image to form a small heart.
Add two more strips to the outer part, one on the right and one on the left.
Complete with the remaining strips, closing the lower ends to create the tip of the heart. SEE PHOTO BELOW.
Brush the surface with the beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar sprinkles.
Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Our puff pastry heart with jam is ready.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
