Classic Coffee Tiramisu

Introducing in a personal way what a classic coffee tiramisu is can be difficult because we are talking about the most famous Italian dessert in the world and the most popular one. Moreover, it is easy to make, requires no cooking, and can be prepared without much skill in just a few minutes.

There are dozens and dozens of variants both in the ingredients and the form, and over time I have also experimented with creating alternatives like the strawberry one or with pandoro instead of ladyfingers.

Despite all of this, tiramisu is always at the top of menus and hardly anyone refuses it because, even though it is super famous, it is still unique for its taste and creaminess!

Ingredients

For the classic coffee tiramisu

  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 17.5 oz mascarpone
  • as needed ladyfingers
  • 1 cup long coffee
  • as needed unsweetened cocoa powder

Tools

  • Electric whisks

Steps

To make the classic coffee tiramisu

  • Start by placing the sugar, egg yolks, and egg in a bowl or food processor and whisk for 5 minutes

  • Then add all the mascarpone, and continue whisking for about 2 minutes until the cream is smooth

  • At this point, prepare a cup of very long coffee and set aside

  • Continue assembling the tiramisu by placing a thin layer of cream at the bottom of a dish and then a layer of ladyfingers slightly dipped in coffee on both sides

  • Once the first layer of biscuits is created, spread a layer of mascarpone cream over it to cover the entire surface

  • For the next step, repeat the same operation, creating a new layer of coffee-moistened ladyfingers, and finally cover the entire surface with the remaining mascarpone cream

  • Finally, sprinkle the dish with unsweetened cocoa powder and refrigerate for about 4 hours before serving

Tip!

If you prefer a more intense coffee flavor, make more cups of strong coffee.
