Guacamole Sauce

Simple to make but at the same time a valuable ally to enrich meat dishes and more. I’m talking about the sauce of Mexican origin, the famous guacamole.

I noticed that there are different variations, but the main base is always the flesh of the avocado, a fantastic fruit full of richness and taste. In the original recipe, in addition to the pulp, lime juice, onion, and chili pepper are used, but I had to use lemon juice out of necessity.

Moreover, since not everyone in the family loves spicy food, I had to replace the chili with chopped cherry tomatoes, and I assure you that the result is still amazing!

Very easy to make, you just need to mash the avocado pulp with a fork and then combine all the other raw ingredients, adding oil and salt. In no time, you’ll have a delicious sauce to enjoy on various occasions.

Ingredients

For the guacamole sauce

  • 1 avocado
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lemon or lime
  • 1 white onion
  • 2 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste chopped parsley

Tools

  • Cutting board
  • Bowl

Steps

To make the guacamole sauce

  • To start, take the avocado and cut it in half with a sharp knife. Choose a ripe avocado; otherwise, the result will not be easily achievable.

  • Proceed by removing the seed and peel off the outer skin from both halves. Use the knife to peel, or if it comes off easily, use your hands to remove the skin.

  • Continue by cutting the avocado into small cubes and placing it in a large bowl so that there is enough space to perform the next step.

  • Now add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, the juice of a lemon or lime, and salt to the bowl. At this point, mash all the avocado pulp with a fork, which is why the avocado needs to be quite ripe.

  • Once you have obtained a puree, proceed by adding the rest of the ingredients, then finely chopped white onion, diced cherry tomatoes, and some fresh parsley, also chopped.

  • To conclude, gently mix everything until all the components are combined. Let it chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

Tip!

If you want to stick to the most authentic recipe possible, use lime juice instead of lemon and chili pepper instead of cherry tomato.
