Air Fryer Crispy Potatoes

The potatoes crispy in the air fryer are a simple and delicious side dish, perfect for accompanying meat and fish main courses. A recipe that always satisfies everyone, both adults and kids. A variation on the recipe for oven-baked potatoes with skin, equally delicious.

For today’s recipe, I thought of drawing inspiration from my version of oven-baked potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but cooking them in the air fryer. Suitable for all seasons, but given the summer and the heat, there’s less desire to turn on the oven.

There’s no need to parboil or steam to make these potatoes super crispy. The preparation with salt before cooking will make the potatoes crispy and flavorful. The only advice I leave for you is to choose potatoes of the same size for even cooking.

You can enjoy them as they are, or with the classic mayonnaise, or with chimichurri sauce. Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs baby potatoes (small)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

Steps

  • First, peel the potatoes with a peeler or a knife. Then wash them very well under water and dry them with kitchen paper. Then cut them in half lengthwise and transfer the potatoes to a bowl.

    Now sprinkle the potatoes with the salt and mix them well with your hands so that it is distributed evenly. Add a little oil, mix again with your hands or a spoon, and transfer the potatoes to the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping.

Storage and Tips for Air Fryer Crispy Potatoes

The air fryer potatoes are best enjoyed right after cooking. I also recommend cooking them as soon as you have distributed the salt and oil. It’s better not to let too much time pass. They would release water and become too soft after cooking.
