Ingredients

  • 3.5 oz dark chocolate
  • 3.5 oz white chocolate
  • 8 almonds (shelled)
  • 8 walnuts (shelled)
  • 0.88 oz candied orange
  • chopped pistachios (to taste)
  • shredded coconut

Tools

  • Baking Tray
  • Cutting Board
  • Knife
  • 2 Small Bowls
  • Parchment Paper

Steps

  • First, chop the chocolate and melt it in the microwave at full power in 20-second intervals. Every 20 seconds, open the microwave and stir the chocolate to distribute the heat evenly. The chocolate will be ready when it is almost completely melted. It doesn’t matter if a few small pieces are still visible, as once you stir it with a spoon or spatula, it will become completely smooth and ready to work with.

Line a rectangular baking tray with parchment paper and slide the chocolate onto it using a spoon, trying to create circles with a diameter of 1.5 to 2 inches each. Then decorate with the dried fruit. I used almonds for the dark chocolate discs and walnuts for the white chocolate ones. Add the candied orange, chopped pistachios, and shredded coconut. Do this before the chocolate solidifies, so the decoration adheres well.

  • Let them rest in a cool, dry place for at least 2 hours, until the chocolate has completely solidified. After the resting time, remove the chocolates from the parchment paper and package them in transparent bags if you are using them as a gift, or enjoy them with a cup of tea.
