Light Tiramisu with Greek Yogurt

The light tiramisu is an alternative to the classic tiramisu, lighter and perfect for when you have that sweet craving without feeling guilty. A super quick and simple recipe, ideal for everyday breakfast or snack. Who doesn’t love tiramisu? I think the classic version is the most loved by everyone, but I confess that after trying the light version I fell in love with it. True, you notice the difference because it is lighter, without mascarpone and eggs, but the taste is exactly the same.

This tiramisu is also perfect for those intolerant to eggs and dairy because it’s made with Greek yogurt. Afterwards, it includes the same ingredients as the classic version: ladyfingers and coffee, but a lot of coffee! Yes indeed, because according to my husband, tiramisu must have a lot of coffee. So if you’re curious to find out how to prepare this recipe, then follow me in the kitchen because the light tiramisu with Greek yogurt and without eggs will be ready in a click!

Ingredients

  • 5.3 oz 0% fat Greek yogurt
  • vanilla (to taste)
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 2 espresso (cups)
  • 2 ladyfingers
  • dark chocolate (to taste for decoration)

Tools

  • 2 Espresso cups
  • Basin
  • Small bowl
  • Spoon
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Steps

  • First, prepare the coffee and let it cool. Then, mix the Greek yogurt with honey and vanilla in a basin until you obtain a smooth cream.

Now assemble your light tiramisu. Dip the ladyfingers in the coffee, break one in half and place it at the bottom of a glass or cup. Add a couple of tablespoons of yogurt cream and also add the other ladyfinger soaked in coffee and broken in half. I broke the ladyfingers because my cups are small, but you can leave them whole. Finally, add the remaining yogurt cream.

    preparing light tiramisu
  • Coarsely chop some dark chocolate and sprinkle it over the tiramisu.

add chopped chocolate on top of the tiramisu

Variations and Tips

The light tiramisu can be stored in the refrigerator for one or two days. As an alternative to ladyfingers, you can also use rusks or pavesini biscuits. You can also replace dark chocolate with milk chocolate for a more indulgent result.
