Melon and Peach Smoothie

The melon and peach smoothie is a refreshing drink that is easy and quick to prepare, ideal for breakfast or a fresh and light snack on the hottest summer days. It’s simply a variation of the melon and honey smoothie, but without the addition of milk. A smoothie thus designed for those who are lactose intolerant and allergic, in which kefir is used: a drink rich in live cultures obtained from the fermentation of milk.

To prepare the smoothie, I used melon and peach, but you can use other types of seasonal fruit. It will also be a great way to consume leftover or overripe fruits. Ingredients

  • 2 nectarines
  • 7 oz melon (without skin and seeds)
  • 1/2 cup kefir
  • ice (as needed, cubes)

Steps

  • To prepare the melon and peach smoothie, first clean the fruit. Then cut the melon in half and remove the seeds and skin. After that, obtain the needed quantity for the recipe. Set aside one slice of melon with the skin for the final decoration.

    Then wash the peach, cut it in half and remove the pit. I also left the skin on, but you can remove it if you prefer. Then cut the peach into cubes and transfer it to a tall container with the melon.

    Add the kefir and blend until you get a thick and homogenous mixture. Then put a few ice cubes in the glasses and pour in the smoothie.

  • The melon and peach smoothie is ready! Make a lengthwise incision on the melon slice you set aside and place it on the edge of the glass. Add a few mint leaves and serve.

Variations and Tips for Melon and Peach Smoothie

It is advisable to consume the smoothie immediately after preparation and freezing is not recommended.
