Brie en Croûte with Spinach

A super delicious dish that is easy to prepare, the brie en croûte with spinach is too good. A rich and flavorful dish that is prepared in just a few minutes but wins everyone over with its super creamy heart under a crispy crust. It’s a dish that calls for conviviality and joy, to be eaten perhaps with friends (you need very little because it is decidedly very rich), to be enjoyed hot with the brie oozing, or even warm, where it becomes very soft and irresistible. Enriched with spinach, it adds an extra touch compared to the classic brie en croûte, you have to try it. If you prefer small individual portions, try the tomini en croûte, they are really good! If you like cheese recipes, you should also try the savory danubio or the danubio alla pizzaiola! I must mention the four-cheese lasagna.

Let’s get to work and prepare the brie en croûte with spinach together.

Steps for Preparing Brie en Croûte with Spinach

  • First, wash and dry the spinach. Cook them in a pan with garlic, oil, and salt. When they are well wilted and dry, remove the garlic and chop them coarsely. Let them cool.

  • Unroll the puff pastry. Remove from the fridge a few minutes before using it so it doesn’t break when you unroll it. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. In the center, place half of the spinach and put the brie wheel on top. Cover with the remaining spinach and some breadcrumbs (which helps absorb a bit of the spinach’s moisture).

  • Wrap the puff pastry around the brie wheel. Flip and brush with an egg yolk mixed with milk. Decorate with poppy seeds and bake in a preheated static oven for about 25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden. Remove from oven, let rest for about fifteen minutes, and serve.

Storage

You can store it in the fridge until the next day.
