The fake tiramisù is a super delicious dessert that is prepared quickly. It doesn’t have the classic mascarpone cream, but a super soft and enveloping diplomatic cream. I made it one morning, and by evening half had already disappeared, forgetting even the hours of rest in the fridge. The classic tiramisù recipe is truly unbeatable, but try this one because it is really very good.

Let’s get to work and prepare the fake tiramisù together.

Steps for Preparing the Fake Tiramisù

  • Prepare the cream by working the egg yolks with the cornstarch and sugar. Add a little milk and stir with a whisk until you get a lump-free mixture. Add the remaining milk, flavor with lemon or vanilla extract, and cook, always stirring with a hand whisk, until the cream thickens. Cover with (PVC and BPA free) plastic wrap in contact and let cool completely.

  • Whip the cream, which must be very cold. Fold into the pastry cream and mix gently. Prepare the coffee and let it cool.

  • In a baking dish, alternate coffee-soaked ladyfingers with the diplomatic cream and a dusting of unsweetened cocoa powder. Make several layers until you finish the ingredients. Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Give a final dusting of unsweetened cocoa powder before serving.

Storage

You can keep the dessert in the fridge for two or three days.
