Hazelnut and Chocolate Cake

A super easy and quick cake to prepare, the hazelnut and chocolate cake is made with few ingredients and is delicious. This cake is extremely easy to prepare, just a bowl and a hand whisk are needed, and it’s a cake without butter, milk (I made it with oat milk which can’t even be called milk), and eggs, rich in hazelnuts which give it a unique flavor. Ingredients for the preparation of the hazelnut and chocolate cake

  • 1 3/4 cups hazelnuts
  • 2 cups type 1 flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • to taste grated lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Steps for the preparation of the hazelnut and chocolate cake

  • Chop the hazelnuts. If you want a more intense flavor, you can roast them in a static oven at 350°F for about ten minutes.

  • In a bowl, mix the sifted flour with the baking powder. Add sugar, milk, oil, and mix. Add the hazelnuts, lemon zest, and salt. Finish with the chocolate chips.

  • Brush a 8 x 10 inch baking pan with vegetable oil. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the mixture and bake in a static oven at 350°F for 40-45 minutes. Still, do the toothpick test. Let it cool before unmolding and serving with powdered sugar.

Storage

Store the cake under a glass dome.
