Ingredients for making the milk ring cake
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Steps for making the milk ring cake
Break the eggs into a bowl. Work them with the sugar, using the electric whisks until light and fluffy. While continuing to mix with the whisks, gently pour in the vegetable oil.
Add the sifted flour, cornstarch, and baking powder, and mix while gradually adding the milk. Scent it with vanilla or grated citrus zest and finish with a pinch of salt.
Mix again and pour into a greased or oiled ring cake pan and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (static) in the lower middle part of the oven for about 45 minutes, but do a toothpick test. Let it cool and serve with powdered sugar.
