Ingredients for the preparation of the no-bowl apple cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 Apples
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 organic lemon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Preparation of the no-bowl apple cake

  • First, clean the apples: remove the peel and core and cut them into pieces. Gather them in a bowl. Add the grated zest of a well-washed organic lemon and the strained juice. Set them aside.

  • Grease a pan (8×10 inches). Sift in the flour and baking powder. Add sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Start mixing the dry ingredients and first add the water, then the oil, working with a hand whisk until you have a smooth mixture. Finish with the apples and mix well.

  • Sprinkle the surface with the sliced almonds and bake in a fan oven at 356°F for about 40 minutes. Remove from oven and after unmolding, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Storage

The cake keeps for two or three days under a glass dome.
