MY CAT APRON

  • Electric Whisk
  • Baking Dish

Preparation of the Pavesini, Coffee and Nutella Tile

  • First, prepare the coffee and while it’s still hot, dissolve the instant coffee in it; let it cool completely. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks, gradually adding the sugar. Once whipped, add the cream cheese and the cooled coffee, and continue working with the electric whisks to achieve a perfect Pavesini Tile.

  • Line a baking pan or a rectangular mold with plastic wrap. Start by dusting the bottom well with the unsweetened cocoa and, using the cookies, carefully form the base and edges of the cake. This step is essential to provide the right structure to this no-bake dessert.

  • Pour half of the coffee cream over the Pavesini base and level it well. Cover with the Nutella, which we have previously softened in a bain-marie to make it fluid. Continue covering with the remaining cream and close it all with a final layer of cookies: it’s the secret to an easy dessert but impressive.

  • Place the dessert in the fridge until the next day; the rest will allow each layer to savor well. Once ready, invert the Pavesini Tile onto a cutting board or platter, remove the plastic wrap, and serve slices of this homemade natural kitchen delight with a final dusting of unsweetened cocoa.

Tips

Chilling in the fridge: Patience is key; overnight rest allows flavors to meld and cookies to reach the ideal texture.

Fluid Nutella: Slightly heating it in a bain-marie helps spread it evenly without ruining the underlying cream layer.

Cold coffee: Ensure the coffee is completely cold before mixing it with the cream to prevent the mixture from deflating.

Variants

Hazelnut crumbles: You can add some on top of the Nutella to give a crunchy note to the bite.

Soak the cookies: If you prefer a more “soaked” dessert, you can quickly dip the outer cookies in a mixture of milk and coffee.

Without coffee: For a kid-friendly version, you can use macchiato milk or simple cocoa milk instead of coffee.

Storage

In the refrigerator: It keeps well for 2 or 3 days covered with plastic wrap or in a closed container.

In the freezer: You can store it in the freezer and serve it as a semifreddo, taking it out about 10-15 minutes before consumption.
