The pizza-style piadina bundles are a tasty and quick idea for a delicious meal that encapsulates all the flavor of Italian tradition in a practical and irresistible format. With a soft piadina base, a cheesy filling of mozzarella and tomato, and a touch of basil to evoke the typical aromas of pizza, these bundles are ideal for an appetizer, a casual dinner, or a quick lunch. Easy to prepare and ready in a few minutes, they can be cooked in the pan or in an air fryer, and will win everyone over with their simple but enveloping taste. Steps for preparing pizza-style piadina bundles

  • In a pan, place the chopped celery, carrot, and onion and sauté with a drizzle of oil. Add the tomato sauce, salt, chili pepper, and basil or oregano, and let it reduce well.

  • In the center of the piadina, place the tomato sauce and cheese cubes (I used fontal, but mozzarella or any cheese you prefer will work). First fold the top and bottom edges of the piadina, then the sides.

  • You can cook the piadina in a pan for a few minutes on each side. You can also cook it in an air fryer for 10 minutes at 356°F with a drizzle of oil.

Storage and Variations

You can store the bundles in the refrigerator for two or three days.
