Steps for preparing the savory tuna log

  • First, drain the tuna and collect it in a bowl. Add the mayonnaise and mix without breaking up the tuna too much. Cut the gherkins into pieces and add them to the tuna and mayonnaise.

  • Lay out a sheet of plastic wrap. Place the bread slices slightly overlapping along the long side. Flatten them with a rolling pin. Spread the tuna and mayonnaise mixture. Cover with the lamb’s lettuce (or arugula if you prefer). Using the plastic wrap, roll it to form a long log.

  • After letting the roll rest in the fridge for a couple of hours, remove the plastic wrap. Cover it with mayonnaise and use a fork to create wood grain patterns. You can cut off a piece of the roll at an angle and attach it to the side to create a Y shape. Only shortly before serving, decorate with pomegranate seeds.

Storage

You can store the log in the fridge for 24 hours.
