Skillet Apple Cake

The skillet apple cake is a light cake, rich in apples, that can be prepared in just a few minutes. Simple and tasty, it is perfect to start the day or to end a meal. Just a few ingredients are needed to have one of those cakes that feel like home and family, like the Venetian apple cake.

Even just for the scent of apples and cinnamon that floods the house. Soft, or rather very soft, it is cooked in a skillet, making it perfect when it’s very hot, allowing you to enjoy apple cake without turning on the oven. Actually, I prepare it even in winter because it’s too good! Let’s roll up our sleeves and prepare the skillet apple cake.

Ingredients

  • 4 Apples
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups Flour
  • Half package Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • Half Lemon
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 to taste Oil
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation

  • First, clean the apples by peeling them, removing the core, and slicing them. Then, drizzle them with lemon juice to prevent them from browning.

  • Break the eggs and beat them with the sugar using the electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy. While still mixing, gradually add the vegetable oil. Sift the flour with the baking powder and add it to the eggs, alternating with the milk. Finish with the grated lemon peel, the strained juice of half a lemon, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until smooth.

  • Add the apples. Brush a 9.5-inch skillet with oil. Pour in the mixture and cook for about 15-20 minutes on low heat with the lid on. Using a plate, flip the cake and finish cooking. Serve with powdered sugar.

Storage
