Steps for Preparing the Strawberry Cake Without Butter, Milk, and Eggs

  • Wash and hull the strawberries. Set them aside. Grease a baking pan (8 x 10 inches). Inside, sift the flour and baking powder. Add the sugar and mix the dry ingredients. Add salt, oil, and vanilla and work everything with a hand whisk until smooth.

  • Embed whole strawberries in the batter. Sprinkle coarsely chopped hazelnuts on the surface and bake in a ventilated oven at 356°F for about 35-40 minutes. Still, do the toothpick test.

  • Prepare the sauce: wash the strawberries and cut them into chunks. Place them in a saucepan with sugar and strained lemon juice. Cook for 5-10 minutes over low heat. Blend with an immersion blender and let cool (you can strain it if you prefer it smoother).

  • Once the cake is cool, remove it from the mold and serve it with the chilled sauce.

Storage

You can store the cake under a glass dome for a couple of days. Keep the sauce in the fridge.
