Have you ever tried toast in a carriage? They are stuffed toasts with cold cuts, you know, I use vegan and cheese, then coated in breadcrumbs to make them even crunchier on the outside and soft and gooey inside. You can fill them with whatever you like, such as mushrooms, artichokes, or grilled vegetables if you want even richer toasts.

If you love toast, try the toast with eggs and eggplants, or the baked rolled toast. Try the bread pie with zucchini or the bread pizza or even the bread and eggplant pie.

All that’s left is to get to work and prepare the toast in a carriage together.

Steps for preparing toast in a carriage

  • On 4 slices of toast bread, put cold cuts and cheese. You can enrich it with whatever you like in the toast. You can leave the square shape or, as I did, give it a round shape using a pastry cutter.

  • Quickly work the whole eggs with milk, salt, and pepper. Pass the toasts in the flour, taking care to remove the excess. Then pass through the egg and finish with the breadcrumbs, pressing to adhere well.

  • Place the toasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Season with extra virgin olive oil and bake at 356°F until the toasts become golden brown.

Storage

You can store the toast in the fridge for a couple of days, but of course, they are tastier when eaten fresh.
