There are days when you need something sweet, fragrant, something that envelops you in its sweetness, that’s what this amaretto tart with caramelized apples feels like to me. It’s a wonderful feeling that can straighten out any bad day.
I tried the amaretto shortcrust pastry, and I haven’t stopped using it since. It’s a really simple base recipe to make, ideal for preparing any kind of dessert, from classic tarts to cookies that turn out crumbly and very fragrant with this pastry. But the best touch is the caramelized apples, simply wonderful, which together with the pastry form a unique and delicious symphony of flavors. It’s a truly fantastic tart that you can enjoy for breakfast, a snack, or whenever you like

Amaretto shortcrust pastry ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup Butter
- 2/3 cup Sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 15 Amaretti
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- As needed Jam
- 4 Apples
- 3 1/2 tablespoons Butter
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- As needed Ground cinnamon

First, wash the apples well with cold water, then peel them and remove the cores. Cut the apples into fairly thick slices.
Place a pan on the stove, add the butter and let it melt over low heat, add the sugar and then the apples. Cook for 3 minutes over high heat so that the sugar dissolves, then let them caramelize for at least 2 minutes. Season with ground cinnamon and turn off the heat. They are ready, set them aside.
For tart preparation click on the green text. Naturally, in the dough, you will need to add finely chopped amaretti. Once taken out of the fridge, roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Place the pastry in a buttered and floured tart tin, prick it with a fork, spread a layer of apple or apricot jam, I used mixed berry jam and place the caramelized apples on top.
Bake at 356°F for about 40 minutes and the tart is ready, enjoy your meal.
