Christmas tree cookies with colored icing. These are treats with a shortcrust pastry base and green-colored icing, decorated with sprinkles. The tree-shaped cookie is a very simple recipe to make, delicious, perfect for preparing for the Christmas holidays.
Maybe it’s not obvious, but I love making cookies for Christmas, all types and kinds. They can be used in many ways, I often give them as gifts, and they are really appreciated, in small packages in single forms, like these trees, or mixed, you can really get creative. Cheerful and delicious, they will bring you the Christmas atmosphere with their scent, simple and familiar. Without Christmas cookies, for me, it’s not Christmas, and I make sure to prepare them strictly at home; I make a lot of them, and I give almost all of them away as my way of wishing Merry Christmas.

Steps for Christmas tree cookies with colored icing
Here you can find the shortcrust pastry for cookies that I used
Proceed with decorating the cookies, as you see in the photo. Place the sprinkles on the plate, and when the icing is still soft, place the colored sprinkles on top, wait for it to dry for at least half an hour
You can find here the procedure to prepare the royal icing. With the icing, you can cover the entire cookie or create designs as you see in the photo, using a piping bag with a rather small nozzle
Storage for Christmas tree cookies
The cookies must be perfectly dry before being placed in an airtight container, or if you want to give them as gifts, use food-safe bags
