Marbled heart cookies, I thought they would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, to serve or give as a gift. This combination of white and pink chocolates evokes the sweetness of love. They are made with a base of soft and crumbly shortcrust pastry. Once baked, they are dipped in melted chocolate, creating these particular and very sweet decorations. Ideal for celebrating the most romantic day of the year, but also to package and give for a special party, or to enrich a buffet for children’s parties

Steps for marbled heart cookies
First of all, prepare the dough by following the Shortcrust Pastry recipe. After half an hour of resting in the fridge, roll out the pastry on a floured work surface to a thickness of 1/8 inch. Cut out the hearts; if you want to buy the cutter, you can click here. Transfer the cookies to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place the baking sheets in the fridge for 10 minutes before baking, then bake at 356°F in a static oven for about 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before decorating with chocolate
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler as you see in the photos above. Or in the microwave at 500W, stirring every 30 seconds; the chocolate should melt slowly and not exceed 113°F. Once ready, put a small part of the pink chocolate into the container with the white chocolate, creating the marbling, gently swirl with a toothpick. Press the cookies face down into the chocolate, drain or lightly tap off the excess chocolate, then place them on a cooling rack to dry. Marble the chocolate several times, and dip the cookies until finished. Let the cookies dry overnight
Storage of marbled heart cookies
The cookies can be stored for a week in an airtight container. If you want to give them as a gift, buy the appropriate food bags
