Melon skewers with prosciutto and mozzarella, is there a more summery recipe than this?

When the heat is really hot, my need is to eat something fresh and light. Okay, salads are fine, but this tasty little dish is an excellent alternative. I love melon, I love all fruits of the orange color, and accompanied by prosciutto and mozzarella, the perfect combination, it definitely gains in goodness. There’s no summer I don’t prepare it, and everyone is thrilled.

In no time at all you’ll have a tasty little recipe, perfect even for a buffet. Summer, in my opinion, calls for fresh dishes, rich in seasonal fruits, and without cooking, as much as possible, light yet tasty. You can create various combinations, with cheeses, like feta, primosale, and cold cuts, such as mortadella, Milan salami, and use apricots or peaches instead of melon.

Preparation of Melon Skewers with Prosciutto and Mozzarella

  • Clean the melon by removing the seeds, and use a melon baller to scoop out about 20 balls from the flesh. Spread out the prosciutto slices, remove the fat, and cut each slice into 3 strips. Dice the mozzarella and place it on a plate

  • Thread a melon ball onto each toothpick, add a piece of mozzarella, and finish with a rolled-up strip of prosciutto. Refrigerate for about an hour before serving
