Soft and creamy chocolate cake, a simple yet incredibly delicious dessert.

Made with just a few ingredients: eggs, butter, sugar, flour, and lots and lots of chocolate. Imagine a chocolate cake, soft inside, that melts in your mouth, so good that when you taste it, you will experience an indescribable explosion of flavors. It can be prepared in a few minutes, does not require baking powder, and instead of flour, you can use potato starch.

Depending on the cooking time, you can achieve a creamy center or, if cooked a little longer, a soft and moist consistency. You can serve it plain, with a dusting of powdered sugar, or fill it with cream, ice cream, berries, strawberries, to make a filled chocolate cake.

Steps for the soft and creamy chocolate cake

  • Start by melting the butter with the chocolate in a double boiler, until you get a smooth and creamy mixture. Meanwhile, beat the eggs with the powdered sugar using an electric mixer

  • Let the butter and chocolate mixture cool slightly, and add the potato starch or flour (sifted), mixing well with a spatula. Pour the obtained mixture into the beaten eggs, little by little, mixing slowly from bottom to top, to avoid deflating it. Until obtaining a homogeneous and creamy batter.

  • Pour everything into a 8-inch diameter pan, lined with parchment paper. Bake in a well-heated oven, static at 350°F for about 20/25 minutes. The toothpick test should come out creamy, if you want a firmer cake, leave it in the oven for 5 more minutes. Let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Then open the ring and let it cool for another 10 minutes. When removing it from the pan, the surface will crack, but it is normal, it is a characteristic of this cake. Transfer to a serving plate, dust with powdered sugar and serve

Storage, tips for the soft and creamy chocolate cake

Instead of powdered sugar, you can use granulated sugar. It keeps in the fridge for about 5 days
