Ingredients
- 9 oz strawberries
- 3 tbsps sugar
- 1/2 lemon (juice)
- 2 rolls puff pastry
- as needed powdered sugar
- as needed milk
Tools
- Cookie Cutter Tescoma 631182 Delicia Flower Cookie Cutter, Stainless Steel, Silver, 2.17 inches, 2 Pieces
- Pastry Cutter Paderno Pastry Cutter/Ring Cutter, Fluted Edge 3.94 inches, Stainless Steel
Steps
Let’s start by preparing the strawberry compote: In a saucepan, put the strawberries that we have previously washed and cut into pieces, add the sugar and lemon juice. Let it cook for about 15 minutes.
Prepare the puff pastry by rolling it out with a rolling pin. From the pastry, we will cut out disks with a 4 inch pastry cutter. Half of the disks, in the middle, will be scored with a flower-shaped cutter, removing the excess dough. Spread the strawberry compote on the whole disks, which we will then cover with the disks with the flower in the middle. Seal the edges with the prongs of a fork, brush with milk.
Place the puff pastry flowers on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, and bake at 356°F for about 25 minutes. Once ready, let them cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar, decorate with a fresh strawberry and serve.
