Air Fryer Apple Fritters

Air fryer apple fritters are a modern twist on the classic grandma’s fritters fried.

Apple fritters bring the taste of home, afternoons spent with family, and aromas that fill the kitchen. But who says we must fry in oil to enjoy this delight? With an air fryer, you can prepare soft, golden fritters with authentic flavor, minimizing the use of fats.
I have experimented with various methods to achieve the perfect result, and I can tell you the secret lies in the fryer basket: a spray of oil makes these fritters irresistibly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s the magic of tradition meeting technology!
They are simple to prepare and the result is surprising. Perfect for a delicious snack, a different breakfast, or to indulge in something good without too much guilt.
Whether you are a lover of classic sweets or a fan of modern cooking, these fritters will win you over with the first bite. Ready to get started and try this light and delicious twist?

This recipe has been made several times to achieve the right batter consistency and perfect cooking in the air fryer:

Do not use the grill lined with parchment paper but the BASKET without parchment paper, spray a few puffs of oil, then use a brush to spread it well throughout the basket, preheat the fryer for a minute then put 3/4 slices of apples dipped in the batter (more if you have a larger fryer) to cook and halfway through cooking, turn them with a spatula (if you have an air fryer with a single resistance).

And do not change the amount of batter, otherwise you risk it becoming too runny or too thick, leading to disappointing fritters.

Tools for air fryer apple fritters:

  • 1 Apple Corer
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Plate

Steps for preparing and cooking apple fritters in an air fryer:

  • Remove the core from the apple, then peel it and cut it into slices about 1/2 inch thick, place the apples on a plate, add lemon juice on top so they do not brown.

  • In a bowl, place the egg and granulated sugar, and with a whisk, beat the ingredients well, then add the milk. When the ingredients are well combined, add the flour with the sifted baking powder, stir well until you get a smooth and homogeneous batter. If you like, you can also add a sprinkle of cinnamon.

  • Spray a little oil in the air fryer basket and preheat for 1 minute at 356°F. Take an apple slice, dip it well in the batter on both sides, and place it in the fryer basket, repeat the same procedure for 2 or 3 more slices.

Cook at 365°F for 10 minutes, then turn the fritters halfway through with a spatula if you have a fryer with a single resistance. While the fritters cook, place 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and cinnamon to your liking on a plate, and then roll the hot fritters immediately in the sugar to adhere well.

  • Continue cooking the other fritters following the same procedure and then once cooked, roll them in cinnamon-flavored granulated sugar.

Serve the fritters still warm or lukewarm to fully enjoy the flavor.
