Ingredients for Apple Puff Pastries in Air Fryer:
- 1 large yellow apple (or 2 small ones)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (leveled)
- 1/2 lemon (juice)
- 1 rectangular puff pastry
- as needed whole milk
- as needed brown sugar
Tools for Apple Puff Pastries in Air Fryer:
- 1 Air Fryer
- 1 Strainer
- 1 Knife
- 1 Rolling Board
Steps for Preparing and Cooking Apple Puff Pastries:
Peel the apple, cut it in half and remove the core, then grate it with a coarse grater.
Add the juice of half a lemon, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar to the grated apple; mix well and let rest for 10 minutes. If desired, you can also add a generous tablespoon of raisins previously soaked in rum for 15 minutes.
After resting, place the apples in a strainer and press well to remove the liquid; place the apples in a bowl.
Unroll the puff pastry and cut it in half lengthwise, then cut it into 4 parts, to get 8 rectangles of about 3×4.5 inches.
Take a rectangle and starting from the middle going down without reaching the edge, make 4 vertical cuts.
Place a teaspoon or two of the prepared apples in the upper half
bring the lower part of the rectangle (where there are cuts) upward to cover the apples and form a pastry, seal the sides well by pressing lightly.
Transfer 4 pastries onto the air fryer rack, brush them with some milk, and then sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook at 356°F for 10 minutes. After the time is up, remove the pastries from the air fryer and cook the other 4.
Serve the pastries at room temperature.
OVEN BAKING:
Place the pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
