Apple Puff Pastry with Jam

The Apple Puff Pastry with Jam is a simple dessert, quick to prepare, and full of genuine flavors. Perfect for those who want to bring a dessert to the table that smells like home, but with a touch of indulgence that captures everyone’s heart.
The crispness of the puff pastry perfectly complements the softness of the sliced apples, enhanced by a thin layer of jam that provides sweetness and character.

This version has a particularity: it is made in two variations to please all tastes: half of the pastry is enriched with chocolate chips, for those who love more indulgent and intense flavors, the other half is decorated with a sprinkle of cinnamon, ideal for those who prefer a spicy and enveloping touch. Both versions perfectly match the layer of jam and apple slices that, during cooking, release an irresistible aroma.
One dessert, two flavors: why not choose both?

Ingredients for apple puff pastry with jam:

  • 1 roll rectangular puff pastry
  • 1 yellow apple
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons apricot jam (generous)
  • to taste ground cinnamon
  • to taste chocolate chips
  • to taste granulated sugar (to sprinkle on apples before baking)
  • to taste powdered sugar

Tools for apple puff pastry with jam:

  • 1 Baking tray
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Knife

Steps for preparing and baking the apple puff pastry with jam:

  • Wash the apple well, then remove the core, cut it in half and peel it, then slice it thinly, place the slices in a large bowl, add the lemon juice and granulated sugar, stir gently and let rest for 10 minutes, in this way the apples absorb the flavor.

  • Unroll the puff pastry roll, spread a thin layer of jam (we used apricot jam but you can use your preferred jam), leaving a couple of inches on each side (as you can see from the video).

  • Place the apple slices on top of the jam (without adding the sugar and lemon liquid), close to each other without overlapping.

We now sprinkled half of the pastry with cinnamon and the other half with chocolate chips, you decide what to use. Add a sprinkle of granulated sugar.

Fold the four sides of the puff pastry towards the apples, then brush with milk or beaten yolk.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 20 minutes.

  • Let it cool slightly before serving, sprinkle powdered sugar on the sides of the pastry and serve, great paired with a scoop of ice cream.
