Apple Waffles
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Very Cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 7 waffles
  • Cooking methods: Griddle
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients for Apple Waffles:

  • 2 medium eggs (at room temperature)
  • 3/8 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 apple
  • to taste ground cinnamon
  • 3 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • to taste lemon juice
  • to taste vegetable oil
  • to taste powdered sugar
  • to taste ground cinnamon
  • to taste apple slices

Tools for Apple Waffles:

  • 1 Waffle Maker
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Hand whisk

Steps for the Preparation and Cooking of Butter-Free Apple Waffles:

  • First, peel the apple and grate it using a mandoline, adding a splash of lemon to prevent it from browning.

In a bowl, add whole eggs and granulated sugar, mix well to combine, then add the plain yogurt and vegetable oil and incorporate them into the mixture.

  • Gradually add the sifted flour with the baking powder and a teaspoon of ground cinnamon (amount depends on taste), mix well to achieve a smooth and homogeneous batter.

Add the grated apples (we recommend squeezing them slightly) and incorporate them into the mixture, stirring well with a spoon.

  • Heat the waffle iron, brush it with vegetable oil when hot, and pour some batter to cover the entire surface. Close the iron and cook for about 3 minutes, until golden.

Carefully remove the waffles using a silicone spatula and place them on a serving plate. Continue cooking the rest of the waffles until the batter is finished (this recipe makes 7 waffles with our waffle maker model).

Dust the waffles with powdered sugar mixed with ground cinnamon and decorate with an apple slice.
