Ingredients for Boiled Cannellini Beans in the Multicooker:

  • 1 1/4 cups dried cannellini beans
  • 2 leaves fresh bay leaves
  • 1 clove fresh garlic
  • 4 1/4 cups natural water

Tools for Boiled Cannellini Beans in the Multicooker:

  • 1 multicooker
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Wooden spoon

Steps for Preparing and Cooking Boiled Cannellini Beans in the Multicooker:

  • In a large bowl, place the dried cannellini beans and cover them with water, cover with a lid and let them rest overnight. The next day, rinse them well under running water.

In the electric pressure cooker, place the cannellini beans, natural water (it should cover the beans by 1-2 inches), then add the bay leaves and the garlic clove after peeling it.

We add the garlic and bay leaves to give more flavor and aroma to the beans; if you don’t like them, you can omit them.

  • Close the electric pot with its lid, close the valve and set the PRESSURE program for 13 minutes at 248°F.

After the time is up, slowly release the pressure from the pot, remove the lid, stir the beans with a wooden or silicone spoon, and check the cooking. If necessary, close the pot again, close the valve, and cook for a few more minutes in pressure mode.

  • Cooking times may vary slightly from one brand of beans to another. We bought different brands, and one took 13 minutes while another took 4 more minutes.

Once cooking is complete, salt the beans, stir well, and use them according to your recipe.

With the same procedure, you can cook:

Borlotti beans, same time as cannellini beans,

    chickpeas need 15-17 minutes,

    lentils 12-13 minutes.

Once the legumes are cooked, turn off the pot and slowly turn the valve to release the steam. Also, make sure the valve is clean and free of food residues before using the pot.

  • PROCEDURE WITH A CLASSIC PRESSURE COOKER:

The method and cooking times for cannellini beans are the same for the classic pressure cooker.
