Pineapple Puff Pastry in Air Fryer
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 5 pastries
  • Cooking methods: Air frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients for Pineapple Puff Pastries in Air Fryer:

  • 1 roll rectangular puff pastry
  • 5 slices canned pineapple
  • to taste brown sugar
  • to taste whole milk
  • 5 candied cherries
  • to taste apricot jam

Tools for Pineapple Puff Pastries in Air Fryer:

  • 1 Round cutter 4-inch diameter
  • 1 Non-stick baking tray
  • 1 Brush
  • 1 Air fryer

Steps for Preparing and Cooking Pineapple Puff Pastries:

  • Unroll the puff pastry on a cutting board, then use a 4-inch round cutter to cut 5 discs. From the remaining pastry, cut 10 strips about 5 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide.

Place a slice of canned pineapple on each disc, having previously drained it from the preserving liquid and dried it well with paper towels.

Lay two strips of pastry crosswise on each pineapple slice and cut off the excess. Press lightly in the center where the pineapple’s hole is.

  • Brush the two strips of puff pastry with milk and add some brown sugar. Transfer the pastries using a spatula to the air fryer rack (you will probably need to do multiple batches), then place the rack in the fryer basket and cook at 338°F for 10 minutes.

Once cooked, brush the pastries with apricot jam (only on the pastry) and let them cool. Decorate with a candied cherry before serving.

Tips:

If you don’t like pineapple, you can make these pastries by substituting it with an apple slice less than 1/2 inch thick. Just wash an apple well and dry it, then use a corer to remove the core and slice it.
