This preparation can also be considered a complete meal as it contains potatoes, eggs, cheese, many ingredients for a tasty and delicious main dish.
Compared to the traditional recipe, we have not added cured meats (essential for this preparation), but we loved this version very much, served hot with the melted cheese—a real delight.

Ingredients for the potato gateau with air fryer:
- 1.1 lbs Potatoes
- 2 Medium eggs
- 1 Mozzarella
- 5.3 oz Smoked provola
- 3 tbsps Grated Parmesan
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- to taste Salt
- to taste Pepper
- to taste Breadcrumbs
Tools for the potato gateau with air fryer:
- 1 Air Fryer Moulinex EZ5058
- 1 Knife
- 1 Baking pan
Preparation
Take the mozzarella, cut it into slices, and place them on a paper towel to dry well, then cut them into slices and then into cubes.
Wash the potatoes well and boil them in a saucepan with plenty of salted water for about 30/35 minutes from when the water boils, until they are soft.
If you want to speed up the cooking of the potatoes, cook them in the pressure cooker following HERE the recipe:
Drain the potatoes and mash them in the potato masher; the skin will remain inside the masher so you won’t have to peel them first.
Collect the mashed potatoes in a large bowl, let them cool slightly.
Add the eggs and Parmesan to the potatoes, stir well, finally add the mozzarella and smoked provola, mix the ingredients well.
Oil and add breadcrumbs to an 18 cm diameter baking pan, pour in the mixture, level it well, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan and breadcrumbs on top.
Cook in the air fryer for 30 minutes at 356°F, let it rest for a few minutes, then serve.
If you want, you can add diced cooked ham or make a layer of potatoes, a layer of cooked ham and sliced scamorza, and finish with potatoes.
