- 1.76 lbs sliced chicken breast
- 1 small yellow onion
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2/3 cup tomato sauce
- 3/4 cup vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- as needed all-purpose flour
- as needed paprika powder
- as needed fine salt
- as needed black pepper
- as needed cumin powder
Tools for Pressure Cooker Braised Chicken Strips:
- 1 Pressure Cooker
- 1 Knife
Steps for Preparing and Cooking Pressure Cooker Braised Chicken Strips:
Peel the onion, cut it in half, and finely chop it, place it in the pressure cooker with the extra virgin olive oil and turn on the heat. Cook for a few minutes over low heat.
Cut the chicken breast into strips. Alternatively, you can use a whole chicken breast, first cut it into slices and then into strips. In this case, the cost of the chicken breast will be lower than buying pre-sliced.
Flour the chicken strips and remove the excess flour by shaking them well, add them to the onion sauté and brown them well, add salt, and deglaze with white wine.
When the wine has evaporated, add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, vegetable broth, add salt, pepper, and the sweet paprika and cumin.
Stir the ingredients well, place the lid on the pressure cooker, check that the valve is closed, then bring the pot up to pressure over medium heat, reduce the heat, and cook for 13 minutes.
After the time has elapsed, turn off the gas, let the pot rest for a minute, then release the pressure and remove the lid, stir the chicken strips well, serve on individual plates accompanied by slices of toasted bread if desired.
COOKING WITH THE MULTICOOKER:
The cooking times and the ingredients remain unchanged. Use the sauté program or stir-fry then switch to the pressure cooking program.
