- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very cheap
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 15 breadsticks
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients for puff pastry breadsticks with speck:
- 1 roll rectangular puff pastry
- 4 oz speck
- 3 tbsps grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste whole milk
Tools for puff pastry breadsticks with speck:
- 1 Baking Tray large rectangular
- 1 Knife
Preparation of puff pastry breadsticks with speck:
Unroll the rectangular puff pastry on a work surface with the provided parchment paper and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese on half of the pastry.
Place the speck slices over the grated Parmesan cheese and then sprinkle 1 more tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese.
Fold the half of the puff pastry without speck over the filled one, and press lightly with your hands to seal the ingredients well.
Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut 9 strips.
Take one strip and twist it to form a breadstick, place it on the non-stick baking tray and continue with the remaining 8 pieces.
If you use a non-stick baking tray, you don’t need to use parchment paper; otherwise, use the parchment paper provided with the puff pastry.
Once all the breadsticks are prepared, brush them with milk, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese, and bake at 356°F (180°C) for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
For even crispier and more golden breadsticks, instead of brushing with milk, brush an egg beaten with a little milk and salt.
