Tools for Puff Pastry Roses with Apples and Cinnamon:
- 1 Pan
- 6 Silicone Baking Cups in silicone
- 1 Muffin Tin
Steps for Preparing and Cooking Puff Pastry Roses with Apples and Cinnamon:
First, wash the apples well, dry them, and cut them into four wedges, remove the core, and then slice them thinly (you should have a total of 30 apple slices).
In a very large pan, put the sugar, a generous sprinkle of cinnamon, and the natural water, turn on the gas, and when the sugar starts to melt, place the apples in a single layer.
When they start to wilt, flip them and cook them for a few more minutes until they are well caramelized, then turn off the gas and let them cool.
While the apples cool, position the puff pastry with the short side towards you, cut it into strips about 2 1/4 inches wide, to get 6 strips of the same size.
Spread a teaspoon of apricot jam on a strip and place the apple slices close to each other on the top, with the peel side up (5 slices).
Fold the pastry up to cover half of the apples, leaving the top part of the slices with the peel exposed.
Roll the strip onto itself to form a rose.
Place the puff pastry rose inside a silicone baking cup and then in a muffin tin; if you don’t have one, you can place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Repeat the same procedure with the remaining puff pastry strips you have available.
Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for about 30 minutes, until the puff pastry is well caramelized.
Let the puff pastry roses cool before serving; if you like, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
