Pumpkin in Air Fryer

Pumpkin in air fryer is a simple and quick recipe, perfect for those who want to enjoy a healthy and light side dish without sacrificing taste. Thanks to air frying, you get a pumpkin that is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, using very little oil. This cooking method is ideal for preserving the nutritional properties of the pumpkin. Pumpkin is a low-calorie food, it has only 26 calories per 100 grams; it is rich in fiber and is a significant source of vitamins: vitamin A (essential for eye health, night vision, and the immune system) and C (strengthens the immune system and promotes collagen production, which is useful for skin and tissue health), rich in potassium and magnesium.

  • Cooking methods: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients for the pumpkin in air fryer:

  • 13 oz pumpkin
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste fine salt
  • to taste sage
  • to taste rosemary

Tools for the pumpkin:

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Bowl

Steps for preparing and cooking the pumpkin in air fryer:

  • Peel the pumpkin, remove any seeds and fibers, and cut it into cubes.

In a large bowl, place the pumpkin, add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, salt, and mix well, then add the spices: we used dried sage and rosemary but you can use the spices you prefer, for example, oregano, sweet or smoked paprika for a bolder flavor, and mix well.

Alternatively, you can just slightly salt the pumpkin if you want to use it as a base for other preparations.

  • Transfer the pumpkin to the air fryer grill and cook at 375°F for 15 minutes, turning it halfway through for more even cooking.

  • Now your pumpkin is ready to be enjoyed alongside a meat or fish main course.

Tips:

You can also use the pumpkin for the preparation of savory pies.
