Steps to prepare the relaxing citrus chamomile tea:
Heat the water in a small saucepan until it is just below boiling, about 194–203°F.
Meanwhile, prepare the citrus. With a knife or a vegetable peeler, cut 3 strips of orange peel and 3 strips of lemon peel, trying to take only the colored part of the skin and avoiding the white pith, which can be bitter. You can add or reduce the quantity according to your taste if you prefer a stronger or milder aroma.Put the chamomile (you can also use a chamomile tea bag—just remove it from the bag), the citrus peels and the sliced almonds into the saucepan. Let steep for about five minutes.
After the resting time, strain the tea directly into the cup. If desired, add a teaspoon of honey and stir well.Serve the tea still hot and remember not to discard the almond slices left in the strainer: after infusion they become soft and scented with citrus and are really pleasant to eat.
Effects of the relaxing citrus chamomile tea:
This tea combines natural ingredients that are traditionally used in evening infusions for their gentle, relaxing effects.
Chamomile is known for its calming properties and is often consumed in the evening because it helps promote relaxation and rest. It is also appreciated for its soothing effect on the stomach and for making the infusion particularly gentle.
The orange and lemon peels give the tea a fresh, citrus aroma and provide small amounts of natural aromatic compounds that can aid digestion and make the infusion lighter and more pleasant after meals.
The sliced almonds add a slightly sweet, rounded note to the tea. During infusion they absorb the citrus scent and become soft and aromatic, so they can be eaten after straining the infusion.
This tea is naturally caffeine-free and can be enjoyed at any time of the day, but it is particularly suitable in the evening or when you want to take a relaxing break.
