Roasted Chestnuts in the Multicooker

Roasted chestnuts in the multicooker, one leads to another and then another.. yes, we love chestnuts and with multicooker cooking they are truly spectacular!

With the drop in temperatures and dreary days, there’s nothing more comforting than warm roasted chestnuts perfect for offering to our loved ones, cooked in the multicooker, without turning on the oven or the gas, just an electrical outlet and with very low energy consumption.

For this recipe, we used the programmable pot from Cecotec GM model H DELUX, a pot with a 6-liter capacity, non-stick basket, foldable lid, 16 menus, but you can prepare them with any multicooker in oven or bake mode.

Ingredients for roasted chestnuts in the multicooker:

  • 10.6 oz chestnuts
  • to taste natural water

Tools for roasted chestnuts in the multicooker:

  • 1 multicooker
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Knife

Steps for preparing and cooking roasted chestnuts in the multicooker:

  • Wash the chestnuts well, make an incision on the top of each chestnut with a sharp knife, place them in a bowl and cover with water.

Leave them for a couple of hours, you can easily soak them in the evening for the next day, in this case cover the bowl with a lid.

  • After the time has passed, remove the water from the chestnuts (do not dry them with a cloth), place them in the basket of the multicooker, making sure they are in a single layer and not overlapping.

Turn on the multicooker in OVEN mode at 356°F for 10 minutes, place the lid without closing the valve, during cooking turn them a couple of times, then after the time is up set another 10 minutes but at 392°F.

Always turn the chestnuts a couple of times during cooking.

  • Check the cooking at the end of the 10 minutes, if you see they are not yet cooked continue for a few more minutes.

The times are indicative because if you have smaller chestnuts they tend to cook faster, we used chestnuts that resembled maroons and they cooked in 22 minutes.

If possible, try to find chestnuts of the same size to achieve even cooking.
