Stew with Potatoes and Onions in the Multicooker

The stew with potatoes and onions in the multicooker is a complete second course that is easy and quick to prepare, ideal for the whole family.

For this recipe, we used the Cecotec GM model H DELUX programmable pot, with a capacity of 6 liters, non-stick basket, flip lid, 16 menus, a true ally in the kitchen.

Ingredients for the stew with potatoes and onions in the multicooker:

  • 1.5 lbs beef
  • 2 large yellow onions (about 14 oz)
  • 3 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1/3 cup dry white wine
  • 3 tbsps tomato paste
  • 1 clove fresh garlic
  • to taste fine salt
  • to taste black pepper (optional)

Steps for preparing and cooking the stew with potatoes and onions in the multicooker:

  • Peel the potatoes, wash them well, and cut them into pieces of the same size if possible for even cooking, set them aside in a bowl.

    Peel the onions and slice them thinly.

  • Turn on the electric pressure cooker and set the sauté program for 10 minutes, add the extra virgin olive oil and when it is hot and starts to sizzle, add the prepared onions and garlic clove.

    Sauté the vegetables well, add the meat cut into pieces and brown it well, deglaze with the dry white wine and when it has evaporated, add the tomato paste, salt and pepper (if desired).

  • Turn off the pot by clicking the button with the GM logo, click the menu button and turn the knob to the pressure cooking program, set the time to 10 minutes, put on the lid and make sure the valve is closed.

    Once the time is up, turn off the electric steam pot and let the valve vent, remove the lid, add the potatoes and stir well, adjust the salt.

    Close the lid, close the valve and set the pressure cooking program again for 10 minutes.

  • After the time has elapsed, turn off the pot, let the steam escape, then open the lid, stir the stew well and serve it on individual plates.
