Air Fryer Tart my classic TART with JAM, my absolute favorite dessert made with my foolproof SHORTCRUST PASTRY, filled with PEACH JAM made at home, but you can fill it as you prefer, with APPLE JAM or FIG JAM or, if you prefer, bake it plain and then fill it with PASTRY CREAM or Coconut Cream.

The tart in the air fryer bakes in just 25 minutes and by using this appliance, you’ll significantly save on oven preheating time!

As I mentioned, I used my SHORTCRUST PASTRY WITH ONE EGG, but you can replace it with Oil Shortcrust Pastry or Cocoa Shortcrust Pastry.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 7 oz jam

Preparation

  • Place the softened butter with the sugar in a large bowl.
    Start to mix the two ingredients to obtain a cream.

    Add the egg yolk and mix.

    Finally, add the flour gradually, and initially mix with the spoon, then, as the dough becomes denser, transfer it to the work surface and start kneading by hand until forming a ball.

    Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least half an hour in the refrigerator.

  • Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of about a quarter of an inch.

    Line a tart pan previously greased and floured.

  • Remove the excess edges with a knife flush with the pan edge.

    Prick the base of the tart with a fork so that during cooking, the tart base does not puff up.

    Fill the tart with your desired jam or jelly.

  • Spread the jam with a spoon to evenly fill the base.

    With the leftover shortcrust pastry, create the decorative strips to place on the surface of the tart.

    Finish the decorations, place the tart in the air fryer and bake at 340°F for 25 minutes.

    When the tart is baked, remove it and let it cool before taking it out of the pan and serving it at the table.

  • If you want to fill it with pastry cream, put a sheet of parchment paper on the base of the tart and cover with beans.
    Then bake the base at 340°F for 15 minutes, then remove the parchment paper and finish baking in about 8 minutes.

Storage

The air fryer tart can be stored at room temperature, under a glass cake dome, for a week.
