Beef Stew with Potatoes using Cookeo

Beef stew with potatoes using Cookeo is a truly delicious main course that immediately gives me a sense of winter, cold weather, and a craving for warm, comforting dishes!

The beef stew with potatoes is a must in Italian winter cuisine! Especially because it’s practical, you put everything in the pot and let it cook slowly, for a long time, so that the meat becomes tender and the vegetables soften enough to make everything very creamy.

Preparing the stew with Cookeo not only makes it easy but significantly quicker: in 15 minutes, dinner is served, unlike the 50 minutes needed with traditional cooking! Perfect for moms and dads who come home late from work but don’t want to give up serving a healthy and nutritious dish to their families!

Shall we try it together?

  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1.3 lbs beef stew meat
  • 2 cups broth (or water)
  • 14 oz potatoes
  • 1 yellow onion
  • flour
  • white wine
  • rosemary
  • salt
  • extra virgin olive oil

Tools

  • 1 Cookeo

Steps

  • Clean, peel, and then wash the potatoes.

Cut them into pieces that are not too small, about 1 inch thick.

  • Peel the onion, cut it in half, and finely chop both halves with a knife.

  • Place the meat in a bowl, add two tablespoons of flour, and mix to coat the meat well with the flour.

Then take it, removing the excess flour, and set aside.

  • Turn on the Cookeo, start the manual cooking function at maximum power, and pour in a drizzle of oil.

Add the onion and let it sizzle.

When the onion is well softened, add the meat and brown it for 3 minutes.

  • Deglaze with a little white wine, stir and let the alcohol evaporate, then add the rosemary, potato pieces, and the broth (or water).

Stir, then close, stop the normal cooking and start pressure cooking for 15 minutes.

When the cooking time is up, and the Cookeo allows you to open the valve, stir the stew well to incorporate the cream that has formed with the other ingredients.

Serve it hot at the table!
