Air fryer stuffed apples, a simple dessert that smells like home, easy and quick.
If you are looking for a rewarding recipe that doesn’t take too much time, this is the one for you! I love apple desserts and especially apple pies, which I make when I crave something good, simple, and genuine. Stuffed apples are a dessert full of tradition, filling the kitchen with a wonderful aroma and always pleasing everyone. Some time ago, I also prepared stuffed peaches, which were truly delicious—we licked our lips.
I love stuffed and baked fruit because it can be prepared in just a few minutes and with easily accessible ingredients. They are perfect any time of the day: at breakfast, as a snack, or as a dessert, they become soft and juicy, while the filling remains fragrant and delicious, creating a truly irresistible contrast.
For the recipe, I recommend apples that hold up well during cooking, such as Golden, Renette, or Fuji. They remain compact yet tender enough without falling apart. One of the things I love most about stuffed apples is that they can be customized in many ways, based on personal taste or whatever you have in the pantry. My favorite version includes dried fruits and amaretti, with walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds making the filling even richer. Just like with stuffed peaches, you can add a splash of liqueur. Alternatively, if you want to keep it lighter, you can opt for just dried fruits, raisins, and spices, without butter or sugar. For cooking, I prefer the air fryer, but if you don’t have one, you can easily bake them in the oven.

How to make stuffed apples in an air fryer
Wash the apples and cut them in half, remove the center by scooping it out with a spoon or a smooth-bladed knife. Create a cavity large enough.
In a bowl, transfer the chopped nuts, crumbled amaretti, cinnamon, and raisins. Finally, mix.
Place the apples in the fryer, season with a pinch of sugar, then fill with the prepared stuffing and add a few small pieces of butter.
Cook at 392°F for about 25-30 minutes. Remove from the fryer and serve with a generous dusting of cinnamon and powdered sugar.
Storage of air fryer stuffed apples
