Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 apple
  • 1.92 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsps butter
  • 2.7 tbsp milk
  • to taste lemon zest
  • 1/2 packet baking powder
  • 0.8 cups sugar
  • to taste ground cinnamon
  • 2 apples
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • 1/2 lemon juice

How to make apple cake with roses

  • Cut 4 red apples, divide in half, remove the core, and slice them thinly, about 2 mm (0.08 in). You can use a mandolin or a simple knife for this operation.

  • Bring water, sugar, and lemon juice to a boil and cook the apple slices for 4 minutes. Drain them and let them cool.

  • To prepare the batter, take a blender or a whisk and beat the eggs with sugar and grated lemon zest, along with the cinnamon.

  • Add the butter and then pour in the milk, flour, and baking powder, finally add only half of the apples you prepared earlier. Pour everything into a 9-inch springform pan lined with parchment paper.

  • At this point, with the rest of the apples, create your roses by overlapping 5 slices next to each other.

  • Decorate with the apple roses, sprinkle the cake with sliced almonds.

  • Bake your apple cake in the oven at 356°F for about 35 minutes.
